Mr.Srikanth Shastry conducted a program at the main temple of Karapura village bringing together the community and panchayat members. The program covered stories from the Ramayana pertaining to Lava and Kusha and the significance of forests, rivers and wildlife was highlighted from our cultural past to present times.

Cleaning the banks of the Kapila River in Kabini
Vana Nadi Pashu-Pati engaged the local community to collect over 150kg of trash from the banks of the Kapila River in Kabini. This exercise has sensitized the locals to keeping the river and its banks clean, protecting bird and aquatic life in addition to the aesthetic value it creates.

Cloud-based education in Kabini
For several years our main donor, IIGM has been supporting a cloud-based education program run by Meghshala Trust in the schools of Kabini. With IIGM’s continued support this academic year, Vana Nadi Pashu-Pati and Meghshala reached out to over 400 children across 6 schools near Nagarahole Tiger Reserve.

Stray Dogs Vaccination Andaman
Vana Nadi Pashu-Pati contributed towards the vaccination of over 25 stray dogs on Swaraj Deep Island in the Andaman’s. The Starvac-7 injection protected the stray dogs against Canine Distemper Virus, Adenovirus Type 1 & 2, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus and Leptospirosis. Dr.Anup Bardhan was the medical consultant and Ms. Urvashi headed the implementation of this project.

Covid Health Camp
A COVID health camp was conducted at Karapura village to promote medicinal plant remedies as a way to improve immunity for the local communities. Remedies with plants such as Ashwagandha, Guduchi, Tulsi, Triphala, Ginger, Neem and Haldi were promoted as a preventive measure against COVID.
