Due to excessive mining in Jharkhand and Chattisgarh, Wild Elephants have returned to Madhya Pradesh after almost a century, making Bandavgarh National Park their home. As a result, farmer crops and properties are being damaged and in some cases villagers lose their lives. Mrs.Shraddha Ghai has been working on Man-Elephant conflict issues at Bandavgarh since 2020 and this year, VNP supported her follow up work which included learning the work of Dr. Rajkumar (Wildlife Conservation Foundation) by visiting Bandipur National Park where he has successfully implemented community driven solar electric fencing infrastructure. VNP plans to support Mrs.Ghai in implementing the same at Bandavgarh National Park.
